Indian Holi Festival :
होली एक लोकप्रिय त्यौहार है : इस त्यौहार पर घरों में साफ-सफाई भी होती है। घरों और शहरों में रंग रोगन भी होता है। होली को छोटी बड़ी पिचकारीओं से खेला जाता है। होली को अलग-अलग रंगों के साथ भी खेला जाता है। होली हमारा एक लोकप्रिय त्योहार है। होली में बच्चे खेलते हुए बहुत आनंद मनाते हैं। होली हिंदू लोगों का त्योहार है। होली के दिन हम नए नए कपड़े पहनते हैं।
होली के ऊपर एक कहानी भी चली आ रही है : कहा जाता है कि प्रहलाद नाम का एक परमात्मा का भक्त होता था। उसके पिता का नाम हिरणाकुश था। जो कि परमात्मा को बिल्कुल भी नहीं मानता था। वह बहुत ही घमंडी था। जब उसने प्रहलाद भक्त को भगवान की भक्ति करते हुए देखा तो, उससे रहा नहीं गया। और वह अपने पुत्र प्रह्लाद भक्त के पास गया। और बोला कि तू उस परमात्मा को मत मान अर्थात उसकी पूजा मत कर तेरे लिए मैं ही भगवान हूं तू मेरी पूजा कर। यह बात सुनकर भी प्रह्लाद भक्त पर कोई असर नहीं हुआ। तो उसने सोचा कि वह अब भगवान की ही सेवा करेगा। यह बात प्रहलाद के पिता को अच्छी नहीं लगी। जिसके कारण उन्होंने प्रहलाद पर अत्याचार करना शुरू कर दिए। उन्होंने प्रहलाद भक्त को चट्टानों से नीचे गिराया। हाथी के पैर के नीचे दिया। पर प्रहलाद बच गया। पहलाद के पिता ने सोचा कि उनकी बहन होलिका जिसको कि वरदान था। कि वह अग्नि के अंदर जलती नहीं है। तो प्रह्लाद के पिता ने सोचा क्यों न मैं प्रह्लाद को अपनी बहन की गोद में बैठाकर आग में बिठा दूं। ताकि मेरी बहन होलिका बच जाएगी। और प्रहलाद जलकर राख हो जाएगा। यह सोचकर उसने अपनी बहन होलिका को बुलाया और प्रहलाद को लेकर अग्नि में बैठने को कहा। तो जैसे ही होलिका अग्नि में बैठी पहलाद भक्त को लेकर, तो प्रह्लाद तो बच गया। लेकिन होलिका जलकर राख हो गई। इसी दिन से होली के त्यौहार को मनाना हमारे देश में शुरू किया गया।

Given under the elephant foot. But Prahlad was saved. Itad's father thought that his sister Holika was a boon. That he does not burn in the fire. So Prahlad's father thought, why do not I put Prahlad in the lap of his sister and put him in the fire. So that my sister Holika would be saved. And Prahlaad will be burning and ashes. By thinking of this, he called his sister Holika and asked Prahlad to sit in the fire. So as soon as the pilgrim sitting in the Holika fire, the Prahlad was saved. But Holika got burnt to ashes. Celebrating Holi festival from this day was started in our country.
